Kate Winslet: the new face of St John

British beauty Kate Winslet has replaced Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie as the face of fashion brand St John. The ‘Titanic’ star has already posed for a series of advertising images which will appear in magazines next season onwards. Jolie who was the face of the brand for five years was replaced because she "overshadowed the brand". Winslet has been a face of Lancome since 2007 and became a brand ambassador for Swiss watchmaker Longines last year. Though St John said that the end of Jolie’s tenure was amicable, sources claim that the star "had issues" with the dresses she was required to wear.

As the new face of St John, Winslet is in good company. Among the label’s model alumni are Gisele Bundchen, Kelly Gray and Liya Kebede.Meanwhile Jolie has secured a reported USD 10 million deal to be the new face of Louis Vuitton.

Kate Winslet is looking like Madonna in a new French cosmetics ad. The Oscar winner is the face of Lancome, and stars in the latest advertising campaign shot by Mario Testino. Her flawless complexion may owe a little to the airbrush, as Winslet admitted in an interview that she is beginning to show the signs of ageing. “I’m more aware of things like wrinkles on my face. They’re becoming much more pronounced, because that’s the muscle I use most when acting,” she said.

The 35-year-old also said that her svelte frame surprises people who encounter her in real life. “It seems to me I look very different from how people expect me to be. Clearly they think I’m a great big fat Viking!” she said.

Husband does not mind stripping - Kate Winslet

For Kate Winslet, stripping on screen is not a big deal, and husband Sam Mendes also doesn’t mind if it is vital to the role.

The “Revolutionary Road” star says: "Of course Sam doesn’t get jealous. I’m not a porn star. I’m not walking out there and actually having sex with other people for my job. He doesn’t get jealous at all, not in the slightest. It’s really not a big deal”.

"I feel that any level of nudity in films that I have been a part of has been absolutely relevant and actually enhanced the story."

While in an interview with Allure magazine, the Oscar-winning actress confessed that she had to wear a pubic wig in order to ensure that her body was consistent with the era projected in the film ‘The Reader’.

She revealed: "I had to grow the hair down there. But because of years of waxing, as all of us girls know, it doesn’t come back quite the way it used to.

“They even made me a merkin - a wig - because they were so concerned that I might not be able to grow enough."

Kate Winslet opposite Aamir Khan

Bollywood Ace actor aka Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan might be soon seen playing the lead opposite Kate Winslet in director Pan Nalin’ s next flick.

Pan Nalin, who is known for his short films, is on the verge of a casting coup of sorts. The director is working towards adapting legendary Pakistani playwright Saadat Hasan Manto’s short story ‘Toba Tek Singh’ on silver screen and is reportedly in talks with Aamir Khan and Kate Winslet to play the lead roles.

Sources suggest that Pan has already narrated the script to Aamir and the actor has taken a keen interest in the same but hasn’t signed on the dotted line as yet. If Aamir gives his nod for the project then he will be seen portraying the role of a lunatic in a mental asylum. The flick will apparently describe a comic situation inside an Indian mental asylum in 1947, when India and Pakistan were being created.

Kate Winslet poses for Harper's Bazaar

In a daring photoshoot for fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar, Kate Winslet has posed amid the rooftops of New York.

The Oscar-winning actress posed for a series of shots for the magazine, reminiscent of the famous Lunchtime Atop A Skyscraper photograph of grubby Thirties builders eating lunch hundreds of feet above the city streets.

"She looked like one of those construction workers in the famous American skyscraper pictures-only a lot sexier in just her underwear and a pin-striped jacket," an onlooker added.

Kate Winslet tops Ultimate Natural Beauty list

British Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet has topped the list of Ultimate Natural Beauty by beating movie legend Audrey Hepburn.

Winslet was declared as having "a classic English rose complexion without needing lots of make-up to look stunning". Close to 3,000 men and women took the survey.

The 33-year-old Winslet beat out Hepburn. Actress Kelly Brook was third followed by Cheryl Cole, Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson.
