Sushmita turns 35, Salman gifts a painting
Sushmita SenFlamboyant Salman Khan gifted a paining to gorgeous damsel Sushmita Sen on her 35th birthday. Buzz has it that the painting was one of Salman’s priced possessions and the star had put it up in his house. An insider revealed, “The painting is of a man with sacred prayer beads around his fingers. Sushmita just fell in love with that painting. It was displayed prominently in Salman’s Bandra home. But when he learnt that Sushmita wanted it, he willingly parted with it and gave it to her.” The handsome hunk and the former Miss Universe have been best buddies since the ‘Biwi No.1’ days. And the fact that Salman parted with one of his favorite possessions sure proves their closeness. So we may rightly term the Salman-Sushmita bond ‘Friendship No.1’. Isn’t it?

Here’s wishing the beautiful Sushmita, a very happy birthday.

Sushmita Sen refuses to play Indira Gandhi
Sushmita SenFormer Miss Universe and bollywood actress, Sushmita Sen who has been very much in news to play Rani Lakshmibai is averse to playing former Prime Minsiter Indira Gandhi. The gorgeous lady who shares her birthday with the former Prime Minister said, “The countdown to my birthday begins as it’s on November 19. Though I share my birthday with Indira Gandhi, I have zero interest in politics." The mother of two adopted daughters says that her fans have been comparing her with the great leader owing to her birthday coinciding with that of the legendary Prime Minister. Its bad news for her fans who have been desperately waiting to see their idol portray Indira Gandhi. But a striking common factor is the fact that Indira Gandhi was the first woman Prime Minister of our nation and Sushmita was the first Indian to bring the Miss Universe crown home.
And the former Miss Universe does have one more factor common with the late Prime Minister- both these women are truly women of substance.

Now, whether or not the gorgeous lady plays Indira Gandhi onscreen, she does have many factors in common with the former Prime Minister. Both have a great persona and that is something remarkable.

The Bengali beauty, who turns 35 on the 19 November, will be celebrating the special day with her two daughters in Dubai.

Sushmita Sen turns director

Sushmita Sen will soon turn director for her project, Rani Laxmibai in which she plays the main lead also.

She has a very strong reason for going behind the camera.” I have lived with this film for a year-and-a-half. For me to get anybody else to direct this film would mean conflict of interests on the sets because we would be constantly fighting about which visions to fulfill and that’s why I am doing it,” Sushmita said.

Sushmita Sen also plans to essay the title role of Rani Laxmibai in the film and is currently immersed in the pre-production

“The film will be made soon. But right now my primary concern is quite few of them. It is a huge canvas. It is a women-oriented film, which is not necessarily one of the most saleable concept on commercial Indian films term. And it’s a very big film and I don’t want to compromise on it,” she said.

“Having said that, we have finished the screenplay, we are down to storyboarding and once the storyboarding is complete and my seven minutes presentation is ready for my international buyers, that’s when I close the chapter till I am ready with my wishlist, my technicians and the funding,” she added.

Sushmita Sen is also in the limelight for making her small screen debut in the reality show, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.
