Mugdha Godse stars opposite Bobby Deol

After receiving rave reviews for her acting skills in Fashion, Mugdha Godse is definitely set to explore her talent by venturing into drama, dark serious cinema and comedy with Jail and Rohit Shetty's All the Best respectively.

Mugdha seems to be exploring new avenues with every film. The latest entrant in the list happens to be the genre of horror. The lady is all set to scare the audiences in a horror flick produced by Sanjay Ahluwalia and Rajeev Virani of Rupali Om Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

The film is to be directed by Rajeev Virani, a first time director and Mugdha is cast opposite the suave and dashing Bobby Deol. The pretty actress exclaims, "I just couldn't say no when I heard the script. It's a fantastic script and I'm so excited that I can't wait to start rolling. The whole art of scaring my audiences is so new for me and I'm looking forward for the same!"

Mugdha Godse gets drunk in Jail

After the huge success of Fashion, it seems the model turned actor Mugdha Godse is smitten by Madhur Bhandarkar’s realistic school of film making. Recently Mugdha got drunk so that the act looks real.

Mugdha who will be seen in Jail opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh, guzzled down a champagne bottle during a song sequence. There was a song in Jail where Neil offers champagne to Mugdha. She insisted that actual champagne be poured into the glass. Madhur wanted to get the scene right and went for several retakes. At the end of the day Mugdha ended up consuming enough champagne to make her pleasantly tipsy.

With Mugdha’s eccentricities to get her act right; a bemused unit had a reason to giggle at tipsy actress who was literally in high spirits all for the sake of shoot.

She was not the celebrity showstopper in her debut flick Fashion but model-turned-actor Mugdha Godse left the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week audience speechless as she sashayed down the ramp for Satya Paul’s designer Puneet Nanda.

"It feels great to be back on ramp after Fashion. I love colours and Puneet has just given me a dash of every colour. The outfit is just perfect," said Godse.

She looked her glamorous best while walking the ramp dressed in a colourful sequined sari with dazzling blouse and flashing red lipstick with confidence. The collection was named Maya and was inspired by the illusionary world which was represented by a melange of colours and fabrics.
The line had colours ranging from bright orange to yellow, from shimmering blacks to soothing blues and in terms of fabrics.

Puneet has a bit of advice for fellow designers to beat recession blues and attract buyers.

Mugdha Godse replaces Katrina Kaif

Mugdha Godse, who made quite a few heads turn in "Fashion", has replaced Katrina Kaif in director Rohit Shetty’s next film. Shetty confirmed that Katrina was the first choice for the film, which is yet to be named but she was not available as the dates of his film clash with some other assignments of Kats, so Mugda Godse was considered for the entertainer.

Mugdha, who is paired opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Jail" too, is happy to be in the full-on entertainer by Rohit Shetty. "I love singing and dancing around trees and have no contempt for hardcore commercial Hindi films. I am happy to be playing one of the female leads in the film. Moreover, my part requires me to look glamorous as well as add to the plot," said Mugdha.

She would be pairing opposite Fardeen Khan and she sounds much exited about it.

Madhur Bhandarkar signs Mugdha Godse for Jail

Mugdha Godse has been signed by Madhur Bhandarkar to play the main female lead in Jail. And Mugdha is ecstatic to be a part of Jail and has started preparing for the role.

Accordng to Madhur Bhandarkar who would be starting the film's shoot in February, "Yes, Mugha Godse has been signed for Jail. She really impressed me in Fashion and it was only right that I bring her in as a female lead in my next film. She is paired opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh."

Mugha has a 3 film deal with Percept Picture Company and Jail would kick start her engagement with the production house. Incidentally, the film is a co-production of Percept Picture Company and Bhandarkar Entertainment.

Mugdha was noticed for her glamour quotient as well as acting potential in Fashion. About her role in Jail, Bhandarkar says, "She would be having a semi-glam look in the film. That's all I can say for now because anything more would only end up revealing the plot. At the moment, it would just suffice to say that Mugdha is not there in the film just for glamour value but she is also critical to the film's plot."

For Mugdha, it's a great start for things to follow because she has been paired with one of the most promising newcomers around, Neil Nitin Mukesh.

Mugdha Godse was mind blowing

Priyanka Chopra has given a huge compliment to co-star Mugdha Godse calling her performance in their movie, Fashion as “mind blowing”.

Mugdha is in seventh heaven after receiving the complement.

“Will you mind if I add ’s’ to the word compliment? I cannot single out any one as I have received many of them. Madhurji told me that I look as if I am four to five films old and my friends told me that though I was supposed to give 100 per cent, I have given my 500 per cent. But, I was on cloud nine when Priyanka SMSed me saying that I was mind-blowing in the movie. At a time, when cat fights prevail in the industry, it really feels nice to get such a compliment from your co-star.” quipped Mugdha.

Mugdha can afford to be choosy while signing new films, post Fashion.

“Yes, I have got a few offers, but I haven’t signed any film. After acting in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film, I cannot afford to choose something less than the best. I am my own competition now,” reveals she. Does it mean that she will be choosy about roles? “I don’t want to sound arrogant, but yes, you can say that,” she says with a smile.

She also revealed that she had one other passion, Writing. “I read a lot of books and they have always inspired me to write. I maintain a personal diary and pen down my thoughts,” she says.

Fashion to be unveiled across 750 screens worldwide

UTV Motion Pictures' FASHION is anticipated to release with over 630 screens in India and another 120 screens in 16 countries across the globe. On October 24, the film will be screened at the South Asian International Film Festival in New York. This will be followed by an exclusive promotion held by The Citibank NRI division inviting their distinguished clients for select FASHION screenings on October 29 across six US cities -- New York, New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Chicago.

Dubai is hosting the FASHION Red Carpet Premiere on 29th October, in association with Star TV Middle East. Australia and New Zealand will be host to 'Fashion Nights' contest across 5 cities - Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland, wherein the winners, crowned as Ms. 'Fashion Australia', will be rewarded with certificates attested by director Madhur Bhandarkar and Priyanka Chopra. FASHION will be released in the US and the Middle East on 30th October, with the other international markets following on 31st October.

Back in India, the three leading ladies from the movie - Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse - are all set to walk the ramp on October 20 for the Sunsilk Fashion Week in Mumbai. FASHION theme parties coined as 'Fashion Nights' will be held in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Bangalore along with partner brands.
