Kylie Minogue spends £10m on designer costumes

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has apparently forked out almost 10 million pounds on designer costumes for her latest tour. The singer, who kicked off the UK leg of her Aphrodite world tour in Cardiff, was dressed by Dolce and Gabbana. She wore gold costumes encrusted with Swarovski crystals and real pearls, a chiffon gown so sheer it “looks like smoke” and a chain-mail Barbarella-inspired dress covered in priceless vintage brooches.

All her backing dancers and singers have also been decked out by the Italian designers.

“Kylie’s petite but perfectly proportioned and looks stunning in whatever she wears,” said a D and G spokeswoman.

Kylie Minogue kicks off world tour in Denmark

Kylie Minogue embarked on her ‘Aphrodite: Les Folies’ world tour in Denmark. The 42-year-old singer embraced Greek mythology as her theme as she performed her newest singles and her classic hits from across the years to a sell-out crowd in the central Danish city of Herning. Just like Aphrodite was depicted perched on a shell in Sandro Botticelli’s iconic painting ‘The Birth Of Venus’, so was Kylie was she emerged from a golden shell on stage at the Jyske Bank Boxen arena. White and gold were everywhere, with Kylie wearing several outfits inspired by the Greek mythology. She was joined on stage by her large troupe of dancers, including some scantily clad hunky males to lift the pint-sized pop star in the air.

She wrote on her Twitter page after her first show, “It was fantastic amazing incredible I am overwhelmed.”

Madonna replaces Kylie Minogue in ‘Priscilla Queen’

The highly anticipated Broadway debut of ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ apparently has a few changes underway. The West End show features numerous mentions of Kylie Minogue but bosses of the hit musical are replacing her with Madonna’s name in the US version.

“Kylie’s not a household name in the States so they needed an equally fabulous icon for the show. Madonna was the obvious choice,” a source said.

Kylie Minogue nominated for ARIA Awards

Kylie Minogue is on a career high as she has bagged two nominations at this year’s ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Awards.

The 42 year old has been nominated for best female artist category and best pop release for her latest album "Aphrodite".

Aussie rockers "The Temper Trap" have bagged five nominations, including Best group and most popular Australian album for conditions, while "Powderfinger" competes in four categories.

The ceremony will take place at the Sydney Opera House on November 7.

Kylie Minogue raking in records amount of cash

It’s been two decades since her very first hit, but Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue is still raking in records amount of cash.

It has emerged, that the 41 year old star amassed 4.1 million pounds in the year to April 2009.

The latest accounts for the singer’s Darenote company lodged at Companies House in Britain reveals she earned 2.8 million pounds from her 2008-09 world tour.

The rest was made through record sales and royalties.

Minogue paid herself 1.2 million pounds and left the rest of the money in Darenote.

"They are very healthy figures for any business”, quoted a financial expert.

The expert added: "But for a singer who has been around for quite a long time it is incredible to be still earning money at this level.

"There are few pop stars who can sustain themselves at the top for so long.

"This shows that Kylie Minogue is among that select band."

Financially, it is Minogue’s most successful year throughout her career.

Popstar Kylie Minogue has been so busy working on her new album that she is not able to take out the time to socialise.

The ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker, who is dating model Andres Valencoso claims she is so busy with her recording commitments, she hasn’t had time to socialise for months.

"I don’t have a life at the moment. I am basically in the studio all the time.

It’s work, work, work. It will all be worth it when my new album comes out - and I am just getting to the exciting bit.

But I really need to get out more," Minogue said. The 41 year old singer’s album is slated for release this summer and will include tracks with British producer Taio Cruz who has even revised his signature sound so he can take the Australian singer in an entirely new direction.

Singer Kylie Minogue may soon tie the knot with her Spanish model boyfriend Andres Velencoso.

The two visited each other’s families this festive season.

The couple spent a week in Sydney with the 41 year old singer’s family.

In Melbourne, they enjoyed time with Kylie’s sister, Dannii and her boyfriend, Kris Smith, and attended her grandmother’s 90th birthday.

The couple then flew to Spain on Christmas Eve to be with Velencoso’s father and sisters.

Dannii revealed that the sisters always got competitive at Christmas over buying the best presents.

"We love it when we find the perfect gift”, said Dannii.

"This sometimes means presents come months after an event, so we don’t always rush to look under the Christmas tree," she added.

The intimate scene apparently took place at the after-party for her Hammerstein Ballroom show.

Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue is taking her obsession for golf to a new level - she is all set to design a range of stylish clothes to wear on the course.

After recording the song in London, the singer has shot for the song with Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta in India.

Confirming Kylie's Akshay-centric attitude to Bollywood, the film's director Anthony D'Souza says, “Kylie is a big Bollywood buff. She has done her homework. She has seen lots of our movies. And she's a huge Akshay fan. She's seen lots of his films. I think she was at the premiere of Chandni Chowk To China in London. The comfort level between them comes from the fact that Kylie knows Akshay's work”.

She's also able to match steps with her Bollywood co-stars. Says Tony, “She gets the nuances perfectly correct. And she's very intelligent. I've shot with her for a week and I'm bowled over by her professionalism. And she's a fantastic performer”.

Kylie has no Hindi dialogues in Blue. But apparently she gets into a sari for a part of her song.

Kylie Minogue to sing for A R Rahman

A.R.Rahman is on a all time high. He is all set to entertain the listeners by having Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue to sing for his forthcoming film Blue. This film also stars Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan along with Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta.

Blue is said to be India's first 'official' underwater film. But that’s not all, the sensational Kylie lending her magically mystical voice to not one but two of the songs in the film just add to the thrill of the movie. While one of the songs is a duet with the supremely talented Sonu Nigam, the other is a solo number for the promotional video of the film.

The duet track with Sonu Nigam is unique as while Sonu recorded the song in Mumbai, Kylie recorded the same in London. This magical fusion was made possible by the musical maestro A.R.Rahman. The latest news is that Kylie will be shooting for the duet song with Akshay Kumar while gyrating to ace choreographer Farah Khan's dancing instructions.

It really seems like the makers of this film are leaving no stone unturned to give the film a truly international feel.
