Gwyneth Paltrow becomes brand ambassador of Coach

Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the new face of US luxury leather goods brand ‘Coach’. The 38-year-old actress, who was previously associated with brands like Estee Lauder and Christian Dior, was signed as the brand ambassador by the label to celebrate their 70th anniversary. "I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand. I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag," said Paltrow. The brand’s president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff praised Gywneth as "a natural choice" for the company saying, "She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand."

The ‘Country Song’ star’s ad campaign will be featured in select markets in Asia and Europe, including France, Spain, the UK, Portugal, and China. Paltrow follows in the footsteps of actress Kate Bosworth who has previously appeared in campaigns for the brand with Coach’s creative director calling her "the epitome of distinctive American style and poise".

Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is terrified of launching her own solo music career.The 38-year-old actress, who was earlier rumoured to have signed a record deal, says that she is scared of plunging into the new field. "Well, I haven’t signed anything but I’m thinking about it. It’s hard to think of switching because all the singing I’ve been doing has been coming out of ‘Country Song’ or ‘Glee’. So I think, how would I do that? Just a record by myself feels a little scary to me," the actress said on the US talk show ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.The ‘Shakespeare in Love’ star, who plays the role of an alcoholic country singer in her upcoming film ‘Country Song’, has already showcased her vocal talent on the hit TV musical ‘Glee’.Paltrow had also performed live at events including the recent Academy Awards and the Grammys.

"I like all kinds of music. I don’t think it would be a real poppy record. Britney Spears has cornered that market," said Paltrow. She has also denied reports of signing a deal with Atlantic Records but says she is open to such offers.

The ‘Iron Man’ beauty has been married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin since 2003 and they are parents to two children, Apple (6), and Moses (4). Gwyneth Paltrow named luxury watch brand ambassador

Gwyneth Paltrow has been named as the new ambassador for luxury watchmaker Baume & Mercier. Paltrow has been named as a "friend of the brand" by the Swiss company, which will model its new image on the exclusive Hamptons area of New York. Although she will not appear in any promotional campaign for the brand, the 38-year-old beauty will be involved with "communication projects", including attending the upcoming Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) - the annual showcase for exclusive timepieces to be held later this month. Paltrow’s role comes after chief executive officer Alain Zimmerman announced the luxury watchmaker had "suffered in recent years from a lack of appeal and visibility" and decided to discontinue the entire collection aside from its bestseller, the Classima. The company has re-launched the Linea and Capeland lines and will premiere the Hampton collection in October. "Our positioning remains as a brand that offers high-quality products with a beautiful design," said Zimmerman.

Paltrow follows actresses Meg Ryan, Kim Basinger, Teri Hatcher and Evangeline Lilly as an ambassador for the company.

Gwyneth Paltrow to host Saturday Night Live

Gwyneth Paltrow will host ‘Saturday Night Live’ for the third time on January 15 with rapper Cee Lo Green serving as musical guest, as the actress looks to promote her own singing in new movie, ‘Country Strong’. Paltrow won a new legion of fans when she sang a version of the rapper’s hit, "Forget You," on a November episode of the TV musical "Glee." After the "SNL" announcement was made, speculation grew on Internet fan sites that Paltrow may sing with Cee Lo on the sketch comedy TV show. The actress, whose "Country Strong" expands from a limited release to theaters across the United States on January 7, said in December she had never met Cee Lo, even though he publicly praised her for her version of the song. Paltrow said she was looking forward to talking to the singer, not just because she loved his music but she wanted to ask the rapper a specific question dealing with her dad.

Her father, Bruce Paltrow, was a director and producer who died in 2002 of complications from cancer and pneumonia.

"Cee Lo’s record with Gnarls Barkley was called ‘St. Elsewhere’, which was the name of my dad’s show," said Paltrow. "I’ve always wondered - you know, you kind of grasp at any connection to your deceased parent that you love. So, I wonder if there’s any connection there, or if he just liked the name."

In "Country Strong," Paltrow portrays a country music singer who mounts a comeback tour following her own struggles with alcohol and drug abuse.

Gwyneth Paltrow is known for her elegant but safe fashion choices on the red carpet but the actress decided to spice up things by opting for a daring white backless dress, which left little to the imagination. Paltrow looked demure and stylish as she arrived in a white floor-length Emilio Pucci gown for the premiere of her movie ‘Country Strong’. But as she turned around, most of her back, hips and legs were on display in the dress, which was slashed right down over her hips, held together only with bits of criss-crossing tie. The slit then continued right down her leg, giving onlookers quite an eyeful reminding Elizabeth Hurley’s famous black Versace outfit in 1994, which was held together by golden safety pins. The 38 year old actress teamed the white dress with some matching criss cross black shoes.

Paltrow was joined on the red carpet by her ‘Country Strong’ co-star Leighton Meester, Garrett Hedlund and Tim McGraw.

Hedlund plays a rising country singer in the movie, who teams up with Paltrow’s fallen star Kelly Canter and helps her make a comeback while ensuring his own fame along the way. But their partnership ends up creating romantic complications.

Paltrow earlier admitted she had to calm her nerves with alcohol.

"I went to a great bar and I had a pint of Guinness. That’s my new ritual. I’m feeling good!" she said.

During her live performance she smiled at the crowd and closed her eyes, before dissolving into laughter at the end.

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted she feels bad for couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for the media attention they get.

"I feel bad for them. They have it worse than anybody on the planet. I mean, we get hounded too, but not like that," said Paltrow.

Gwyneth Paltrow turns fashion designer

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is gearing up to turn a fashion designer with a 70’s enthused clothing line, as she has teamed up with French label ZOEtee to create their autumn winter collection called ZOEtee’s Loves Gwyneth.

The clothing line will include masculine-tailored pieces.

The funds from the clothing label will be donated to London’s Kids Company, which offers therapy, education, art, sports and hot meals to at-risk children.

The collection will be unveiled to fashion editors next week in London.
