The 21-year-old British actress, who has done modelling for Burberry campaign, is keen to bring out the creativity in her. Watson plans to continue her studies at Oxford and is currently taking fabric-cutting, design and sewing classes. “Emma wants to challenge herself creatively. She’s obsessed with art at the moment”, said a source. ‘She looks up to designers such as Georgina Chapman and Sarah Burton. She has also been studying the work of Joan Miro to inspire her,” he added.

Actress Emma Watson was chosen to become the new face of cosmetics firm Lancome because she brings "fresh spirit" to the brand, company’s bosses have said. "Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation. We are delighted by this new collaboration with Emma, who brings a fresh spirit to Lancome," said Youcef Nabi, president of Lancome international. The campaign is being shot by legendary photographer Mario Testino. Watson, who was earlier the face of Burberry, said she can’t wait to get to work.

"It’s so exciting, I can’t wait to start shooting. Although I don’t wear much make-up, I’m a big fan of Lancome products, especially their mascara," she said.

Emma Watson postpones studies for acting

Cute and lovely actress Emma Watson has postponed her studies to focus on acting. Watson had enrolled herself into prestigious Brown University to study literature, but has put this on hold to concentrate on acting projects. "As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student and fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible," Watson wrote on her website. "I’ve decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one, that comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects," she added.

"I will still be working towards my degree. It’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought," she wrote.

‘Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson is busting into the high-fashion world, by collaborating with fashion house Alberta Ferreti to create an eco-friendly collection. The 20 year old actress, Watson, is working on the ‘Pure Threads’ collection meant for "sensitive people, who want to be supportive of these kind of issues," said Ferretti. The designer said she was attracted to Watson because of her "freshness, spontaneity and simplicity." "She is intelligent, with a strong personality, a young, modern girl," she said of the actress. This is not Watson’s first foray into the world of fashion; she modelled for Burberry’s Autumn/Winter campaign in 2009 and appeared in their 2010 Spring/Summer campaign alongside her brother, Alex. The British actress also began working as a creative adviser for People Tree, a fair trade fashion brand, in February 2010. Part of the proceeds of her Ferretti line will benefit People Tree.

"I’m pleased that a luxury brand such as Alberta Ferretti has decided to create ecological clothes," said Watson about her latest venture.

"I believe this is a big step forward for all of the international fashion industry, but also an important step for an increased sensitivity to the problem of ecology," she added.

According to a report by Forbes magazine, Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are the highest earning couple with USD6.3 billion dollars, according to Forbes. Watson and Grint played teen couple Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series and have beaten the ‘steamiest’ couple Robert Pattinson and Kristina Stewart to the top spot. The financial magazine then compiled the list based on highest box office earnings for each on-screen duo.

Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler of ‘Lord of the Rings’, who played lovers Arwen and Aragon in three Tolkien epics, reportedly earned USD3 billion for the LOTR franchise.

Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, came third. They earned USD2.7 billion at the box office.

Twilight couple, Pattinson and Stewart managed to get USD1.8 billion for the ‘Twilight’ franchise since the first film debuted to massive success in 2008.

Emma Watson turns fashion designer

It seems that Emma Watson is looking for new creative outlets post her Harry Potter stint as the actress has now collaborated with designer Alberta Ferretti for a new clothing line. The 20 year old star will be seen in the first part of the Harry Potter final film ‘Deathly Hallows’, and says her new range will be made from organic materials. "We are doing an organic clothing range. I can’t reveal the name yet but there will be more information about it soon," Watson said. The star said her inspiration behind the line is English actress Jane Birkin, "very classic, 60s Jane Birkin."

Ferretti first contacted Watson after learning about the actress’s People Tree organic clothing line.

"She wrote to me and said, ‘I saw what you did with People Tree and I think it’s a great idea and will you do something with me?’" Watson said.

The actress, who shot to global fame at the age of 10 with her role as Hermione Granger, has already made it clear that acting is not her priority and Harry Potter could be the end of her acting career.

She is already a student of literature at Brown University. The collection will debut before the last Harry Potter is released.

Emma Watson turns designer for People Tree

Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson is creating a new range of "clean, sexy" outfits for ethical clothing brand People Tree. The young actress is excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to "alleviate poverty" by using organic and imported cotton.

Watson, who already has contracts with fashion labels Burberry and Chanel, is working as creative advisor for People Tree’s new range that is aiming at bringing fair trade and organic fashion to the 16-24 age group.

"I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with," said Watson.

"I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there," she added.

The People Tree line, comprising 26 women’s styles and 15 for men, plus a small accessories range, will enter stores in late February 2010.

The actress found it difficult to cover up as her frock slipped on her way back home after the screening.

She tried to gather up the flowing skirt of her long dress to avoid stepping on the hem but was snapped accidentally flashing her panties to her fans and paparazzi.
