Penelope Cruz tops Sexiest Star poll

It may be the last thing on their minds but pregnant stars Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman have beaten off competition from Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston to be named the Sexiest Stars of 2010 in an online poll. The 37 year old, Cruz, is eight months pregnant with her first child, Portman had announced earlier this week that she too is set to become a mother. The 29 year old, Portman, was voted the Sexiest Woman in 2010 movies by men, while Spaniard Cruz was the women’s poll leader. The website’s male respondents voted Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds the joint Sexiest Man in 2010 movies, while the women picked Depp ahead of Robert Downey, Jr. The voters in the Christmas weekend online poll also chose Blake Lively as the Next Big American Movie Star.

Men picked Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz, stars of ‘The Green Hornet’ as the Most Mismatched Movie Couple and women opted for Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston who star in ‘Just Go With It’.

Both sexes agreed ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ is 2011’s Most Anticipated Blockbuster.

Penelope Cruz shows her engagement ring

Penelope Cruz has appeared at the premiere of her new film wearing a ring on her left hand, sparking a new round of speculation that she’s engaged to boyfriend Javier Bardem.

The 35 year old actress showed off the sparkling ring Sunday night at the New York City debut of her latest film, Broken Embraces. The ring featured a "knuckle-sized sapphire surrounded by small diamonds" and was worn on the finger usually reserved for engagement and wedding bands.

Cruz would not answer questions on the ring, choosing instead to praise the director of Broken Embraces, Pedro Almodovar, who accompanied her to the screening.

Penelope Cruz to have kids in future

Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz has finally revealed her secret ‘baby desire’.

The star, whose animated Disney film ‘G-Force’ hits the big screen later this month, has admitted that she wants to have children in future.

Her confession comes at a time when she is rumoured to be pregnant with her current beau Javier Bardem’s child.

“Of course I want to have my own kids, as well as adopt some. I love children and I have a tendency to become a mother to everyone around me. I believe in family, love and children and my life wouldn’t be complete without children,” said the actress.

Although unconfirmed, rumours that the happy couple were expecting their first child started in early August, when Cruz was pictured on some red carpets looking tired, and sporting what could be a baby bump.

Cruz refused to comment on the rumour.

Penelope Cruz doesn't mind looking bad

Penelope Cruz has said that she does not really care if she is looking bad in a film, as long as it fits the character she is playing.

"I am never concerned if I have to look bad. I don’t care if I look good. You do whatever is necessary to give the character what it needs. It’s important not to be selfish”, said the actress.

"You get used to looking at yourself. I make sure I am a piece of clay and give whatever that character needs inside and outside. I have a physique that can change and transform."

The “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” star dislikes actresses complaining about how they looked when they were young.

She added: "You always end up reading stories about actresses who say they were the ugly duckling in school. I think we have had enough of these stories.”

"I would probably say the same. We all feel that about ourselves, developing, becoming a woman. But if I read another story about another actress complaining about the way she looked at school, please not one again!"

Penelope Cruz is pregnant

If the latest reports are to be believed, then actress Penelope Cruz is expecting her first child with actor partner Javier Bardem.

The Spanish stars, who first worked together in 1992’s "Jamon, Jamon" are preparing to be first-time parents after learning Cruz is pregnant.

"Penelope is about four months pregnant. She’s really healthy now and will be a great mother," said a source.

Cruz and Bardem also starred in the 1997 Spanish film "Live Flesh", before playing lovers in Woody Allen’s 2008 drama "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", which won the 35-year-old actress her first Academy Award, for Best Supporting Actress.

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz was left red-faced when she had to appear on the red carpet wearing a scarlet suit, after her luggage got lost on a flight to London.

Cruz, 35, had jetted in to the British capital from Madrid to attend a glamorous event at the city’s Somerset House with her ‘Broken Embraces’ director, Pedro Almodovar.

But when she arrived there, the actress was forced to wear a red suit that she had kept in her hand luggage, instead of the customary full-length gown.

She was, however, not fazed by it, and was more worried about the unpredictable English weather.

But filmmaker Almodovar was sure a conspiracy was at work, and was convinced an avid fan was behind Cruz’s missing possessions.
