Barbara Mori roped in for another Hindi film
Barbara MoriEven as her much anticipated ‘Kites’ is yet to release, foreign sensation Barbara Mori has bagged yet another prestigious Bollywood offer. The stunning lass, who has been much in news for her alleged link-up with co-star Hrithik Roshan, will be returning to the country in January to star in yet another Hindi potboiler. “I’ve another film in India to be shot in January. I can’t talk about it right now, but I can tell you it’s a big film. I’d love to do many films in India,” said Barbara.

So what’s calling Barbara back? Trust us, it’s more than just Mumbai. Talking about her love for India, Barbara said, “I love all the Indian people. They’re so lovely. They make me feel so much at home. In Bollywood, Susanne wanted me to meet every friend of hers. So she took me to a lot of places. We went partying all night at Shah Rukh Khan’s home. I met many actors and actresses but I can’t remember their names. They are all so warm.”

As for the other areas she wishes to visit, she said, “I want to visit Delhi and the Taj Mahal. I haven’t had time to do so, as so far I’ve been to India only for work. Now I need to come back for a vacation. Then I’ll visit all the places I want to.”

Talking about ‘Kites’, Barbara said, “I’m not nervous. I’m excited. ‘Kites’ is my first film for this part of the world. I had never watched Bollywood films before ‘Kites’. But after I realised I’d be part of ‘Kites’ I really enjoyed watching some Bollywood films. I loved Hrithik’s film ‘Lakshya’.”

But how can Mori not talk about Hrithik. Mention Hrithik and the actress says, “I feel there’s a very special chemistry with him. I’ve done a lot of movies with many other actors but nothing like Hrithik.”

Barbara Mori with Hrithik Roshan in Maldives
Barbara MoriMexican hot actress Barbara Mori, who is in India for the promotion of "Kites", left for the Maldives to shoot an ad campaign for Provogue with co-star Hrithik Roshan.

The Roshans wish to keep her visit as low key as possible until she returns from the Maldives for a series of press interactions in Mumbai.

Hrithik wrapped up the final few days of shooting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for "Guzaarish" before Barbara’s arrival.

Hrithik and his wife Susanne gladly played Barbara’s host on her arrival in Mumbai.

About her current visit to India, Rakesh Roshan, the film’s producer, said: "We don’t want to create any unnecessary hype about her presence. But we do want to make it clear that we didn’t sign Barbara for ‘Kites’ because we needed any Caucasian girl."

"Barbara is not just a pretty girl. She is an amazing actress. You have to see her in ‘Cosas Insignificantes’ where she had shaved off her hair. She is an outstanding dramatic actress," he added.

Barbara Mori teaches Spanish to Hrithik Roshan
Barbara MoriIt's not just fame that Kites has brought to Mexican actress Barbara Mori. She has also learnt English while shooting for the romantic-action thriller and it was none other than co-star Hrithik Roshan who turned teacher on the sets.

Apparently Barbara and Hrithik made a pact. Hrithik would teach Barbara English and Barbara would teach him Spanish while shooting for the movie.

Barbara has picked up enough to conduct herself coherently with the media in Cannes although apparently she would often turn to Hrithik to get the right word.

Producer of the film Rakesh Roshan said, “Barbara knew only Spanish when she started shooting for 'Kites'. That suited us fine since her character is supposed to understand only Spanish. During shooting she needed to communicate with her co-stars and the crew. She was forced to learn English. Now she speaks just enough to make herself understood”.

Kites is being directed by Anurag Basu and also stars Kangana Ranaut in a pivotal role. The film's shooting is over and it has reached editing table. Rakesh Roshan is hoping for an October release.

Kites scheduled for Diwali release

Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori
Rakesh Roshan wants some portions in the film to be re-shot as a result of which the film might take a longer period of time to release. It should be interesting to see when Yash Chopra decides to announce his film.

In 2007 when Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Saawariya’ clashed with Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’, the makers had exchanged some sour notes.
One will have to wait for other announcements for this year.
