Mariah Carey to launch perfume trio

Singer Mariah Carey is set to release a trio of perfumes named after her songs ‘Inseparable’, ‘Never Forget You’ and ‘Vision of Love’. The singer will launch Lollipop Splash the Remix in July this year, which will be a trio of the limited edition scents. The perfumes will be available in brightly-coloured bottles with notes including raspberry, peony and purple jasmine. "The fun notes are intended to demonstrate that fragrance shouldn’t be so serious also, the bright colours of the bottles really pop on counter," said Marcy Fisher, vice president, North America (Fragrance Marketing) at Elizabeth Arden, the global cosmetics empire. Carey is working with Fisher for her range of perfumes. "Mariah is always reinterpreting and mixing her music, keeping her brand relevant. She wanted to have the same effect with her fragrances, so she decided with this project to approach it from that perspective," Fisher added.

Mariah Carey to join X Factor

According to the latest buzz, Mariah Carey could soon be joining Simon Cowell on the US ‘X Factor’. The 40-year-old singer has said that she was leaving Universal to rejoin Sony, who has close ties to X Factor. Apart from that, Carey’s former boss and mentor LA Reid has already quit a subsidiary of the label to hook up with Simon.

“Mariah and Simon have been in talks about US X Factor for a while. He’s very fond of her. She’d certainly bring the pop diva card to the table,” said a source.

Pregnant Mariah Carey expecting twins

Pregnant star Mariah Carey referred to her unborn child as ‘they’ in an upcoming interview with Radio Disney, sparking rumours that she and husband Nick Cannon are expecting twins. While discussing her new album Merry Christmas II You, the 40-year-old singer revealed she began recording the album after finding out she was pregnant. "I just hope that they don’t turn out hating Christmas!" she joked to Radio Disney’s Ernie in a radio interview.

Carey, who has not revealed her due date, kept her bump well hidden during a performance at New York’s Rockefeller Centre.

Mariah Carey’s shoe collection shocks hubby

Pregnant Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon has requested her to bid adieu to her famous high heels now that she’s expecting the couple’s first child. Cannon is already worried she might topple over again - like she did during a concert in Singapore in September. During his US radio show, “Rollin’ With Nick Cannon”, he grumbled about his battle to keep his glamorous wife off heels.

"I come home yesterday to help my wife get ready for her video shoots and she has these 19-inch heels on," said Cannon.

"So I go into the closet searching for some flats for my wife. She got a lot of damn shoes - it’s like a freakin’ MACy’s. But Mariah Carey does not own one pair of flat shoes.

"And then we did find some flats and they were a regular ballet slipper. I was like, I don’t think so."

Carey called in to defend herself and said: "To be fair, I had some boots from Aspen, some Dior boots!"

But Cannon wasn’t happy with the idea of his wife tramping around New York in "ski boots" and added, "I’m going shoe shopping today, needless to say, to buy you some flat shoes."

Mariah Carey to launch her lifestyle products

Mariah Carey, who has announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon, is all set to launch her own line of lifestyle products and jewelry for the Home Shopping Network. The pop star diva, will be taking to the small screen to hawk her designs starting on Nov 29. Carey said that she is always looking for new ways to express herself creatively and jumped at the chance to develop her own collection of shoes and jewelry and more.

Once she, HSN CEO Mindy Grossman and designer Joan Boyce put their heads together – part of which was a meeting in Carey’s own shoe closet – the ideas for a more complete lifestyle brand started flowing.

Much like the woman who starred in the 2001 film ‘Glitter’, the collection is going to include a lot of sparkle.

Expect pave-set ‘initial’ pendants and limited edition sets of Carey’s fragrances set in Swarovski crystal.

The jewelry will also feature the butterfly, one of the singer’s favorite motifs and the name of her mega platinum-selling 1997 album.

The shoes will be tall but with a nod toward comfort.

"A platform shoe grounds you a little more. I try to make my designs more practical as well as pretty. One of the things I thought about was how I could do affordable, really nice, comfortable shoes that are still flattering to the leg," said Mariah.

The shoes will be priced from about 69.90 dollars to 199.90 dollars, while the jewelry will be available from 39.99 dollars to 199.95 dollars.

Mariah Carey falls on the stage

Mariah Carey fell flat on her backside while performing in Singapore.

Carey tumbled while she was belting out "Make it happen" at the Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix, but she managed to get back on her feet with some assistance.

Despite the embarrassing moment, the pop star continued her performance and sang her other songs barefoot.

While going to her dressing room, she sai, "I did that on purpose".

Mariah Carey fuels pregnancy rumours

Singer Mariah Carey has dropped out of her latest movie, Tyler Perry’s adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf," just days before filming was scheduled to begin, fueling rumors that she is pregnant.

"She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to," said her representative. "More than that I cannot comment further."

Earlier this month, Cannon had hinted that a baby is not out of the question after sometime.

"Her schedule is starting to calm down, you never know”, said her rep. "In the next year or two, the rumors might come true."

Carey and 29 year old Cannon have been married for two years.

Mariah Carey announces Angels tour dates

Mariah Carey, who hasn’t toured in more than three years, will embark on a national ‘Angels Advocate’ trek beginning December 31 at Madison Square Garden in New York, and wrapping February 27 at the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas.

The eight week, 19 city tour will feature opening act RydazNrtist, a new R&B group signed to NCredible Entertainment, the label of Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon.

The "Angels Advocate" tour is in support of Carey’s latest album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," which has sold 344,000 copies in the United States.

Presale tickets will be available for members of Honey B. Fly, the official Mariah Carey fan club, for all show dates. Tickets for most of the tour will go on sale December 19.

Mariah Carey blames marriage for weight gain

Singer-actress Mariah Carey blames her happy marriage with American actor-rapper Nick Cannon for her recent weight gain.

The singer, who has gained weight over the past few months, is so content with her husband that she is regularly eating fatty food.

"I love to eat. I never knew I could be this happy after marriage – it’s pure bliss," she said.

Mariah Carey auctions rare designer gown

Mariah Carey is auctioning off a rare designer dress especially created for her to raise money for breast cancer research.

The Hero singer is supporting charity Susan G. Komen for the Cure to sell a hot pink, asymmetric fishtail gown on auction website eBay.com.

The couture dress is one of only three in the world and was made by Julian Contreras after Carey asked fans to send in fashion designs inspired by her perfume, Luscious Pink.

Ever since the gown has been up for sale, fans are clamouring to get hold of it and have already quoted a price of 5,600 dollars, while there are still five days for the bidding to close.

The item was listed with a starting price of 500 dollars.
