GAJA jewellery line debuts with Guzaarish

GAJA by SABYASACHI, collaboration between Sabyasachi Mukherjee and GAJA, retail brand of Shree Ganesh Jewellery House (SGJHL), one of India’s top jewellery houses has made its successful debut in Guzaarish. The collection designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee and crafted by GAJA completes the look of Aishwariya Rai, as Sophia in the film. GAJA by SABYASACHI reflects a multicultural influence; set in precious and semi precious gemstones with minakari and filigree crafted by around 60 skilled karigars from Bengal at the manufacturing unit of Shree Ganesh Jewellery House at Manikanchan SEZ. The karigars gifted with expertise from legacy and trained from a very young age, specialise in fine filigree and minakri and work under Sabyasachi’s guidance.

Made in 18 K - 22 K gold and set with colourful gemstones like emerald, turquoise, coral, moonstone, amethyst ruby and other semi-precious stones, some of the distinguishing designs featured in Guzaarish are the Navratan necklace, Raindrop earrings, Coral Kanpashas, Rhodolite balis, Butterfly earrings, minakari Bird ring and the turquoise and coral ring. . The striking Navratan necklace is the masterpiece of the collection worn by Aishwariya to capture the romantic climax of the film when Sophia, the nurse, becomes Sophia, the bride as Mrs. Mascarenhas. The Navratan is a distinctive piece of bridal, bringing out the essence of the atypical and unusual bride in her odd predicament.

For the collection, Sabyasachi used precious and semi-precious stones, minakari and filigree and had to work with about 60 skilled workers from West Bengal to complete the line.

Aishwarya Rai not to use TV shows to promote movies

Gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai was under considerable pressure to appear on TV reality shows to promote her films ‘Action Replayy’ and ‘Guzaarish’. The lady who did make an appearance on Akshay Kumar’s show, ‘Mater Chef India’ is very clear in her head that she will not use TV shows to promote her films and even otherwise. Said an insider, "There was considerable pressure on Aishwarya to be on these reality shows for her two back-to-back releases. But she is very clear about her dos and don’ts. Being on reality is a complete no-no for her. She did make an exception for Akshay’s ‘Master Chef’. But no song and dance reality shows for Aishwarya. And no game shows. Two weeks ago she stayed away from ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ as part of the promotion for ‘Action Replayy’. This week Aishwarya refused to go on the popular music contest ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Hrithik Roshan had to go alone."

The muse of ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali did make it to Dubai to promote her film with Hrithik Roshan but did not accompany him to the sets of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Defending her reservations, the filmmaker said, "I completely respect her decision because I know she is not doing it as a fashion statement. Aishwarya truly believes in whatever she does. So there’s never that doubt that she is just doing it throw her weight around. Her decisions are always well thought-out."

Buzz has it that the Bachchan bahu has been approached to be a part of a big television show at a price that no other lady from Bollywood could ever imagine.

Now is it Aishwarya’s bond with the show that is stopping her from making an appearance on other TV shows or is it Salman Khan’s stern decision not to let the lady promote her film ‘Action Replayy’ on his show ‘Bigs Boss’ which eventually hurt her inflated ego is something to wonder about. Or is she acting too pricey? No matter what her decision has certainly made eye brows raise.
