Danny Boyle to rescue homeless Slumdog kids

Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is flying to India to rescue child stars Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail.

Both the child stars’ were rendered homeless after Mumbai authorities torn down their shanties following a slum clearance drive.

Boyle fears that lives of Azharuddin, 10, and Rubina, 9 are spiralling downwards despite their Oscars success.

He had set up a 500,000 pounds trust to help them in education and give them apartments.

Danny Boyle to direct next James Bond flick

The hottest director this year, who grabbed almost all the Best Director Awards at International arena, has been approached to direct the James Bond flick. I am talking about Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle who has been approached to direct the next James Bond movie.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, who now heads the huge 007 franchise is leading the chase for Boyle's services.

According to a source, “Danny Boyle is the man of the moment and he is being bombarded with offers from studios. He has been offered the chance to direct the 23rd Bond film by Barbara Broccoli”.

Danny Boyle is said to be a hot property in Hollywood after his Mumbai-set film became an Oscar sensation with eight wins. "The production team love his vision and thinks it would work perfectly for Bond's new look. Everyone thinks Danny would be a fantastic addition to the Bond family," the source added.

Slumdog Millionaire wins Directors Guild of America honor

Success and honor is on full flow for Slumdog Millionaire. Now the mivie has continued its rags-to-riches march through Hollywood's awards season as its filmmaker, Danny Boyle, won the top honor from the Directors Guild of America. Danny Boyle won the DGA's Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for Slumdog Millionaire.

The win puts Boyle on the inside track for the same prize at the Academy Awards on February 22, since the guild recipient almost always goes on to win the directing Oscar.

While “Slumdog Millionaire” started as an underdog that nearly went straight to DVD, it has emerged as the Oscar favorite. Audiences have embraced Boyle's tale of a poor boy rising to fame and fortune from the streets of Mumbai, and the film triumphed at the Golden Globes and Producers Guild of America Awards, while taking the prize for best ensemble cast from the Screen Actors Guild.

Backstage, Boyle joked about the fact that his award was presented by Joel and Ethan Coen, who won the prize a year ago for “No Country for Old Men”.

A R Rahman bags Golden Globe Award

Bollywood music director A.R. Rahman became the first Indian to win the Golden Globe Award, for best original musical score in Danny Boyle's movie "Slumdog Millionaire". The honour bestowed on the maestro has brought much cheer to the Indian film industry.

The Golden Globe is a coveted award and it is a rare honour for an Indian music director. By winning it, competing with composers from around the world, Rahman has not only proved his worth, but has also conveyed to the world that, given a chance, an Indian music director can deservedly vie with any composer in the world.

Rahman won the prestigious award for his musical score in the song "Jai Ho", for which Gulzar penned the lyrics. The song is a typical Rahman number and the composer stuck to his signature style while composing it.

The international recognition that Rahman has earned for himself makes every Indian proud.

"Slumdog Millionaire" bagged four Golden Globe Awards. Apart from Rahman, the movie won the awards for best motion picture, best screenplay(Simon Beaufoy) and best director (Danny Boyle).

That "Slumdog Millionaire" will sweep the Golden Globe Awards was a foregone conclusion after critics from around the world hailed the film.

Based on Vikas Swarup's novel "Q & A", the film starring Dev Patel, Freida Pinto and Anil Kapoor, is releasing in India Jan 23.

After winning the Golden Globe, Rahman is looking forward to bagging an Oscar for his soundtrack for "Slumdog Milloinaire".

Rahman is now all set to enthral his fans with his upcoming projects "Delhi-6" and "Blue".
