Actress Scarlett Johansson was deemed too sexy to star in ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, despite her great audition, according to director David Fincher. Fincher said he decided against giving the role of main character Lisbeth Salander, now played by actress Rooney Mara, to the 26-year-old beauty, because people "can’t wait for her to take her clothes off". "We saw some amazing people. Scarlett Johansson was great. It was a great audition, I’m telling you. But the thing with Scarlett is, you can’t wait for her to take her clothes off," Fincher said.

The 26-year-old actress has teamed up with the organisation Planned Parenthood to film a new public service advertisement urging women to sign a petition opposing the new legislation. "The House passed a bill to eliminate our country’s family planning program and to stop Planned Parenthood health centres from receiving any federal money to provide life-saving preventative care," the ‘Iron Man 2’ star says in the advertisement. "That means no money for cervical cancer screenings and breast exams. No money for testing and treatment of STDs, not even testing for HIV. No money for birth control," added the actress. Johansson, who is now dating actor Sean Penn (50), after separating from ‘The Proposal’ star Ryan Reynolds last year, called the government’s plan "disastrous."

According to Variety, the three actors all appeared at a recent reading of the play in New York, hosted by Drama Desk Award-winning director Alex Timbers. The report has sparked speculation the trio will take on the story in a new production of the play, which was made famous by the 1940 Oscar-winning film adaptation starring Katharine Hepburn as a scheming socialite opposite Cary Grant and James Stewart, reports a newspaper.
