Kate Middleton to join Royal Family at Madame Tussauds

Kate Middleton will become the latest addition to the Royal Family when she marries Prince William in April next year. But she will have to wait a few months longer to join them at Madame Tussauds. The famous wax museum has revealed that Middleton’s waxwork will probably not be seen alongside the Prince until late 2011. It said it would try to book a sitting with Middleton after her wedding. It would then take sculptors up to four months to make the model. The museum is also waiting to hear if she would donate an outfit for the waxwork. Upon completion, the wax Middleton will join The Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, Camilla and Princes William and Harry, who are already on display at Madame Tussauds.

“It looks likely it will be shortly after the wedding and then it takes four months to complete,” said a spokeswoman at Madame Tussauds.

“It depends on what she wants and whether she can donate clothing. I imagine the sculptors will probably go to her and the sitting normally takes a couple of hours,” she added.

Rihanna has been honoured with her wax statue at Madame Tussauds museum in Washington DC.

The 22 year old ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker is now sporting red hair but her wax incarnation copies her previous avatar, with a blonde quiff.

Artists studied hundreds of photographs and video footage to capture the singer’s look.

Rihanna donated the figure’s outfit, which includes a black lace corset, black fitted jacket, black skinny pants and black silk heels.

The figure will be part of the museum’s Glamour Room, where guests can take photographs with the figure.

Shah Rukh Khan in wax at Times Square

Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan will join the wax figures of the famous at the famed Madame Tussauds at Times Square amid a performance by Bollywood dancers.

The colourfully dressed troupe of dancers will perform to the soundtrack from Shah Rukh starrer ‘My Name Is Khan’, one of the highest-grossing Bollywood titles released in the US as Khan’s figure is unveiled with the DVD release of the film.

Standing in front of a replica of the Taj Mahal, the star’s wax figure will be dressed in a sleek black suit and white button down shirt.

The actor known as ‘King Khan’ is the latest addition to Madame Tussauds brightly-colored, fully-interactive ‘Bollywood Zone’, which allows guests to feel as though they are on a Bollywood film set.

The celebrated Bollywood actor, producer and television host, Khan has starred in more than 50 films throughout his career. The star was also named one of Newsweek’s “50 Most Powerful People in the World” in 2008 and has a fan following numbering in the billions.

Now available from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, the DVD is timed for India’s Independence Day and showcases the changing face of Bollywood, the enamouring on-screen partnership of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, behind-the-scenes featurettes about the story, music from the film and more.

Described by US media as "A potent, energetic heart-tugger" (Los Angeles Times) and "an affecting fairy tale about the perils of goodness" (New York Times), the film relates the story of an Indian man with a unique way of looking at the world.

The protagonist Rizwan (Shah Rukh) moves to San Francisco and meets a vivacious single mother named Mandira (Kajol). They form a special bond and fall in love against all odds, but fate and tragedy conspire to tear them apart.

Just when it appears as though all hope is lost, Rizwan embarks on a remarkable journey across America to win back the love of his life.

Madame Tussauds to have Sachin Tendulkar now

Madame Tussauds Museum in London is going to have Sachin Tendulkar’s wax figure.

Wax figures of bollywood greats Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are already in the museum.

Sachin Tendulkar will be the first Indian sports personality to be wax figured at Madame Tussauds.

Tendulkar's triumphant image will go up at the famous Madame Tussauds museum in April, next to other cricketing greats such as West Indies batsman Brian Lara and Australian spinner Shane Warne.

The cricket hero will be featured in a typical celebratory "on the pitch" pose after scoring a century, dressed in cricket whites.

The highest test and one-day scorer will join the ranks of sporting greats, including David Beckham, Mohammed Ali, Tiger Woods and Jesse Owens, in Madame Tussauds interactive Sports Zone.

The wax figure will be created at a cost of 150,000 pounds.

Aamir Khan refuses getting waxed at Madame Tussauds

Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently. This phrase perfectly suits the perfectionist Aamir Khan. He is known for his totally different approach from the current league of bollywood actors.

Aamir proved so recently when he turned down the offer to get waxed at the Madame Tussauds wax museum. Madame Tussauds had approached Aamir as they wanted to add another Bollywood bigwig to their existing collection of actors. Some of the big names of bollywood who have already been waxed are Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan etc.

It is believed that Aamir declined the offer by saying that he wasn’t interested. He added that he leaves behind things that don’t interest him, as he has so many things to do. He wants people to see him through his films and nothing else.
