Hurley was at the event to turn the Empire State Building pink as part of Estee Lauder’s cancer awareness event.
The drive is very important to the spokesmodel, as the issue is close to her heart.
“My maternal grandmother died of breast cancer just before I started working with Evelyn and Estee Lauder and so, as soon as she asked me to help, it seemed like the perfect fit because she was one of the ladies that we really had tried to get past all that because she was scared of her breast cancer. She wouldn’t tell anyone that she had a lump,” said Hurley.
“So that’s really what has inspired us to now really spread the word, so that breast cancer is not a dirty word anymore,” she added.
The new campaign launch will kick-start the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which begins on October 3.
