Salman Khan to play a tribal revolutionary in Veer

Salman Khan is all set to act as a tribal youth in the pre-independence era who took part in a revolutionary struggle. And for this role he has perfected a new make-up and look.

Salman Khan is seen in a beefy, bronzed look with shoulder length hair. The actor is seen wearing a fur jacket and an ethnic neckpiece and bangle. Also, Salman seems to be playing the warrior role to the hilt as he is seen holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other.

“Veer is the story of a revolutionary tribal youth. It is really his love story”, reveals Anil Sharma who helms the project. The leading lady of this romance hasn’t been found as yet. According to Anil, “The script requires a new girl”.

To match Salman’s beefy looks, Mithun Chakaraborthy who plays his father has also hit the gym. The film was launched with an elaborate song sequence in Mehboob Studio, Mumbai a couple of months ago, which was “a celebratory song” that brings out the father-son camaraderie between Salman and Mithunda. Choreographed by Rekha Chinni Prakash, the music is by Sajid- Wajid.

Reportedly Veer is pegged at a staggering budget of Rs 120 crores. Without confirming figures director Anil Sharma stresses that it will indeed be one of the most lavish films currently as it will be shot in London, Rajasthan and hills of Himachal Pradesh. ”This is the first time that the England of early 1900s will be depicted,” he points out.
