Salma Hayek to launch her beauty products

Salma HayekMexican actress, director and producer Salma Hayek’s first beauty line, which is set to launch at 7,000 CVS Pharmacy stores nationwide from August, is expected to make 35million dollars in its first year alone. The star has taken the past three years off from acting to focus on the development of the 100-product range of cosmetics, called Nuance Salma Hayek. The range, which comprises everything from make-up to anti-ageing skincare, also includes some rather less predictable products, such as a Correcting Spot Treatment 10perdent Sulfur Acne Treatment. But though the range will have a budget price point (from 7.99 dollars-19.99 dollars) the formulations, the ‘Frida’ star said, will rival anything at the top of the market.

“It is possible to create extraordinary product for a low price. Everyone should have the right product at the right price,” said Salma at an event to launch the line.

“A lot of products don’t even cost a lot to make. I wanted to make simply the best product and give everyone access to the good stuff,” she said.

The mother-of-one, who is married to PPR boss Francois-Henri Pinault, said that her grandmother, a cosmetologist who was an advocate of Native American and Mayan formulations, inspired the line.
