Katrina Kaif inspired by Anil Kapoor

Taking inspirations from actor Anil Kapoor, actress Katrina Kaif feels concentration and focus are the two most important things that every actor needs to follow.

"During the shooting of “Humko Deewana Kar Gaye” Anil used to tell and teach me as to how concentration and focus are important things in an actor’s career. This is one thing that I will not forget and feel that will flourish my career," Katrina said.

The actress, who has worked with several senior and experienced actors like Aksahy Kumar, Govinda and Salman Khan, feels blessed to have such talented co-stars from whom she has learnt a lot.

"The more films you do you get more experience and then you get to know what you want to do as an actor, what different and special thing a role or a script you are looking for," she said.

Katrina who plays a lead role in “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”, a romantic-comedy, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, said, "I was kind of chilled out and had fun while shooting with Ranbir. He is a good co-star who is passionate about his work and does not have ego."

Talking about the film, Katrina said, "It is a romantic-comedy movie. Though hundreds of movies have been made on love but this is unsual, it is unique, wacky and stylish."

The film is a romantic story of two youngsters, Prem and Jennifer, played by Ranbir and Katrina. It is a love drama packed in fun and joy. The movie is expected to hit the silver screen on November 6.

Cheryl Cole sick with solo career fear

Popstar Cheryl Cole, who is busy judging artists on TV show X-Factor these days, wakes up in the middle of the night "sick with fear" about her own solo career.

The ‘Girls Aloud’ singer, who will release her debut solo album ‘3 Words’ later this month, is terrified of stepping into the spotlight without her bandmates.

"The thing is, for the past seven years the other girls have been my safety blanket. If I forget my words on stage or something, there’s always four other girls that can pick it up. Now I’m completely on my own. I wake up in the middle of the night sick with pure fear going, “What am I doing?," Cole said.

However, the 26-year old singer feels even though she is frightened, she wants to challenge herself by heading for a solo career and wants to pursue a venture on her own.

"Girls Aloud is becoming a bit too normal. I need a new challenge, a kick up the bum. It’s good to feel frightened.

Being out of your comfort zone isn’t always a bad thing," she added.

Cheryl, who is married to English footballer Ashley Cole, is set to release her first single “Fight For This Love” on October 19 followed by the album “3 Words” on October 26.

Solange Knowles used to spend $50K yearly on hair

Singer Solange Knowles has revealed that she used to spend 50,000 dollars on her hair yearly, before she decided to stop and cut it all off.

Knowles, 23, revealed about her salon addiction when she made an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show.

“Realistically I was spending about 40,000 dollars to 50,000 dollars a year and probably half of my life, I grew up in a hair salon, my mum owned a hair salon,” said the singer.

“There was always this feeling of always wanting to be in the salon once or twice a week and I got a perm pretty early - I was four,” she said.

When she chopped off her locks earlier this year, she wrote on her Twitter page the reason for it.
“I just wanted to be free of the bondage that black women sometimes put themselves in with their hair,” she explained.

“This phase in my life I want to spend the time the energy and the money on something else and not in the hair salon,” she added.

Kate Moss does Yoga for better complexion

After Hollywood stars Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Madonna it is supermodel Kate Moss who is swearing by the benefits of Yoga.

The 35-year-old super model went on a week-long yoga retreat to improve her complexion. Moss was mortified after seeing photographs of her skin looking blotchy and lined, and so decided to detox to improve its condition, Female first.

"She went to a yoga retreat for a week, where there were no temptations at all. She got back and she felt better than she has in ages. And she looked much better too - her skin has bounced back," a source close to Moss said.

Moss, who designs a range of clothes for British high street chain Topshop, was determined to look her best in time for London Fashion Week earlier this month, especially as Topshop boss Philip Green wanted her to look fresh-faced at the store’s show.

Michelle Obama to promote gardening

US First Lady Michelle Obama is to appear in the first episode of the 40th anniversary series of Sesame Street with a segment encouraging kids to plant gardens.

The First Lady will appear in the November 10 season debut of the educational show for kids.

The show producers said that Mrs Obama will teach the furry "residents" of Sesame Street about the benefits of growing a garden and healthy living.

"All these seeds need to grow are sun, soil and water. If you eat these healthy foods, you’re going to grow up to be big and strong, like me," Mrs Obama says on the show.

"I know you’re going to like these vegetables, because in addition to being healthy, they really taste great!" she adds.

Carie Prejean included for 2010 Conservative Women Calendar

Former beauty queen Carrie Prejean has been included in the fifth annual Great American Conservative Women Calendar.

The Clare Both Luce Policy Institute, which is a conservative women’s group based outside of Washington, DC, recently released the 2010 calendar, which features top women leaders in the Conservative Movement.

“I was so honoured to be in the calendar as one of the great American conservative women. As a former beauty queen, it’s refreshing to be taken seriously,” said Carrie.

Prejean, 22, also spoke about her desire for young conservative women to become leaders on campus.

“It’s so important for young women on college campuses to feel comfortable standing up for their conservative ideas. Conservative women need to be vocal in the public, and get involved in the media,” she said.

“I hope to have encouraged, and inspired other conservative women out there to not hold back, engage in intelligent discussions, stand up for what you believe in, and get involved. We cannot see a change if we don’t start with ourselves,” she added.

The calendar also features other notable conservative women including Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, and Rep. Michele Bachmann.
