Katy Perry all set to wed Russell Brand

Katy PerryAman-i-Khas in Ranthambore – set to host the much-awaited gala Indian wedding of singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand is looking resplendent as a bride. The famous celebrity couple will get hitched today according to the Hindu traditions at the resort. Russell Brand and fiancée Katy Perry have chosen to sit on giant ornate thrones for their wedding this weekend at the resort near Ranthambore national park in Rajasthan. Russell will come in all regal finery to the venue on a decorated horse escorted by a grand pageant of dancers, elephants and camels.

Katy Perry will be wearing Lebanese designer Reem Acra’s dress along with traditional Indian jewellery during the wedding. Even Russell will be sporting traditional Indian henna tattoo. Confirming the news a source told a daily, “They are very much keeping to Indian tradition. There will be feasting and dancing. And Katy will be painted head-to-toe in henna tattoos.”

Celebrating their big fat Indian wedding, Katy and Russell will exchange vows amid ‘East Meets West’ theme with a special performance by celebrated choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and his supermodel wife Jesse Randhawa.

"Sandip and Jesse had performed at Madonna’ birthday and everyone loved it. So there will be a special performance by them. The piece will combine Kathak and Bharatnatyam with Tango and Paso doble," said the source.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Tours manager Mohan Singh, whose company is helping to organise the event, confirmed that both Russell and Katy want a traditional wedding. “This would be a colourful Rajasthan wedding, and both Brand and Perry will be attired in Indian wedding attires,” he said.

Katy and Russell’s gala reception will be held on Sunday at the Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur.

Earlier, Russell and Katy threw a Bollywood-style feast to kick off their four-day celebrations. The celebration was marked with dancers, snake-charmers and fires at the luxury Aman-i-Khas resort. What’s more is that the workmen have been constructing a stage, and famous singer P Diddy is expected to perform on the night.

Buzz has it that Aman-i-Khas is being guarded by armed guards. The venue is secured with bamboo sticks and canvas spreads to avoid prying eyes of the media.
