While the nation was stung by Radiagates, it was only a matter of time before Bollywood came up with a film on the subject. Interestingly, hot item girl Poonam Jhawar has been short listed to portray lead character - corporate lobbyist Niira Radia’s role. The film will be called, ‘2G Radia-tion’. Poonam, who once reportedly rejected the offer by Playboy to feature on the magazine’s centerfold has agreed to play Radia’s character in the biopic. At a press conference in Mumbai, Poonam said, “The producers felt my overall personality matches with that of Niira Radia’s. It’s the role of a lifetime for me.” The film is said to trace Radia’s life as a young entrepreneur who post her exposure in the 2G scam went on to hit the headlines. "It will not be an entirely true account of Radia’s life," Poonam added, also stating that she’s already begun to observe the original Niira a bit more carefully these days.Poonam said further, "I was amazed to see how cool and calm Radia has been ever since the controversy erupted. She was quite composed even in front of the media and while facing the CBI. She seems to be a very interesting personality. I will try to incorporate these elements in my interpretation of the role." And for the same, Poonam wants to meet Niira personally, before the shooting starts in April next year.
To Poonam’s credit is a movie called ‘Aanch’ which she produced and she even made a short appearence in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Mohra’.
