Kanishtha Dhankhar (22) from Mumbai won the Pantaloons Miss India World 2011 title at a glittering function in Mumbai Thursday night. She had earlier won the Pantaloons Femina Miss Body Beautiful.
Hasleen Kaur from New Delhi won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2011, while
Ankita Shorey from Mumbai won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India International 2011. Miss India 2010 winners Manasvi Mamgai, Nicole Faria and Neha Hinge crowned the 2011 winners. Kanishtha Dhankhar is a model by profession. She will represent India at the global pageant later this year. Her favourite actor is Leonardo DiCaprio and she rates Sachin Tendulkar as her most favourite sportsperson. Ankita Mohapatra from Bhubaneswar won the Bollywood Diva Title. She will act in a forthcoming film under Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment banner. Rakul Preet Singh, who was one of the top 5 finalists, won the Miss India Online Poll 2011. She was the first choice of the online audience. The judges of the show included Kangna Ranaut, Fardeen Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Ritu Kumar, Shiamak Davar, Leander Paes, Tarun Mansukhani, Sajid Nadiadwala and Prachi Desai. Tarun Mansukhani, was the first to break the news, when he tweeted, "Judges unanimous winner of the miss india crown is.... Kanishtha Dhankar!!"
The event saw scintillating performances by Anushka Sharma, Malaika Arora Khan, Hard Kaur and Sonakshi Sinha, music band SQS and television actors Gaurav Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Harshad Chopra and Gaurav Chopra. Last year, Sushmita Sen’s production company Tantra Entertainment had been awarded the India franchise to select participant for the Miss Universe contest and the winner - Ushoshi Sengupta had represented India at the international pageant. Other than the crowning of Miss India, Nadiadwala also announced Ankita Mohapatra as the winner of the Bollywood Diva title, who will be cast in a forthcoming film under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.
