Bollywood top actress Aishwarya Rai is all set to play the role of Daughter of the East, Benazir Bhutto.It would take a woman of substance to play the role of Benazir Bhutto, the assassinated former prime minister of Pakistan , admired the world over, including both sides of the border.
Aishwarya Rai is acclaimed for her beauty and carriage worldwide and is also now part of the first family of Bollywood namely the Bachchans. She resonates the power and beauty that Benazir commanded.
The project is to be taken up by UTV. Prominent lyricist Neelesh Misra of ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ and ‘Jannat’ fame has been approached to create the screenplay.
Speaking to reporters, Misra maintained that though he had been offered the project he is yet to give his final nod.
Reports also confirmed that the producers are holding talks with the Bhutto’s family and the Pakistan government for their consent.
If the project goes smoothly, it will be the role of a lifetime for Aishwarya Rai and a milestone in Indo-Pak relations.
